Dudley Savage MBE R.I.P. We are sad to announce that Dudley Savage passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday 25th November 2008.
Dudley Savage became the resident organist at the Royal (ABC) Cinema in Plymouth, UK in 1938. After the war he presented and played "As Prescribed", a programme of requested organ music for those ill in hospital or at home on BBC Radio for over 20 years. Dudley and the "Royal" Compton are recognised as one of the most perfect partnerships of artist and instrument in the theatre organ world.
This double CD set captures the essence of that partnership! The very best of the music is coupled with a 24 page colour booklet which explains the history of both organ and organist.
